Charles was a family man, outdoorsman, historian, businessman, civic leader and patriot. As a gunsmith he enjoyed collecting guns and military memorabilia and was a Life Member of the National Rifle Association. Charles served one term as a Walton Village Board Member and was the Town Assessor. He was one of the original founding members and Secretary/Treasurer of the Walton Mountain Sportsmen's Club, a Master in the Masonic Lodge, a member of VFW, and a President and Treasurer in the local Lion's Club. Charles and Anne belonged to the Congregational Church where they enjoyed singing in the choir. As a board member, Charles and Anne enjoyed volunteering for the Delaware Valley Historical Society. President. Later he was promoted to Senior Vice President for Franklin Society Federal Savings and Loan which included responsibility of the thirteen county Southern Tier Region. Upon retiring from banking Charles became involved in many businesses. He was a partner in Ludlow Arms, President of Supaflu Inc's US operations, part owner and President of Walton Turngrey Inc, and operated a self storage facility with his brother Richard.
In 2004 Charles retired from business and moved to Casper, WY where he enjoyed hunting and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Anne Turner; brothers, Richard Turner of Walton, NY and Dayton Turner of Los Angeles, CA; sister, Kaye Lancaster of Bakersfield, CA; son, Clarke Turner of Casper; and his daughters, Lori Covell of Lake Balboa, CA, Kelly Drier of Red Hook, NY, and Beth Turner of Casper; as well as six wonderful grandchildren.

Upon graduation from Walton High School in 1951 Charles entered the Navy and served on the aircraft carrier, USS Tarawa, CV 40 as an Aviation Ordnanceman 2nd class during the Korean War. After his Navy tour of duty Charles returned to Walton to marry Anne (Radeker) Turner, his bride of 57 years, in 1955. He found employment as a bank teller at the Delaware County Federal Savings and Loan and then became bank Air Max 95 Black And Neon Green

USS Tarawa Veteran's Association and he and Anne attended all annual meetings and reunions throughout the US until 2006. Charles and Anne also loved visiting their grandchildren and he enjoyed telling them stories.

Charles Roscoe Turner, 81, passed away December 19, 2012 at Life Care Center in Casper, Wyoming. Charles was the son of Millard and Eloise (McLaughlin) Turner born in Binghamton, NY. In Air Max 95 Ultra Se Blue 1944 his family moved to Walton, NY where Charles lived for most of his life.
