Coroner Jennifer Leeming ruled that Mrs Stanton, from Newtown, Wigan, died from bronchopneumonia and the pressure sore was not a factor in her death.
An inquest at Bolton Coroner's Court heard that in the months leading up to her death in February 2008 a nursing appointment had been cancelled and Mrs Stanton's medical notes were misplaced.
This led to her pressure sore not being redressed for 21 days in November 2007. The wound bandage should have been changed weekly.
Florence Stanton died from natural causes but an inquest revealed flaws in nursing procedures at Ashton, Leigh and Wigan PCT that left her "thrashing in pain" after a chronic heel ulcer was not properly treated.
