The Chumash Indian Museum was established in 1994 and features artifacts, historical data and models of Chumash life, including a Chumash village and a cave with original pictographs painted on the walls. "This site was actually a Chumash site, so this is very much the homeland to Chumash Indians," said Beverly Folkes, a member of the museum's board of directors and a Chumash descendant.

"This is our first time coming to this," said Stephanie Roberts of Thousand Oaks, who brought her 5 year old son, Jonah. "He really enjoyed the museum and seeing the way the Indians dressed, what they looked like. It's definitely worth it for us to come here and learn this history."
Salazar and Unzueta are both Chumash storytellers. "I tell a lot of the stories about the maritime Chumash culture," said Salazar, a Chumash Tataviam Indian who also is a paddler in a traditional Chumash canoe called a 'tomol.' "We just did a crossing from Channel Islands Harbor to the island we call Limuw, what most people refer to as Santa Cruz Island, last Nike Air Max 95 Zip week."
